Initiated by the Blueprint Collective, Seen and Heard is a campaign which asks for better public spaces for young people in London and for young people to have an active role in their design.
For many young people living in London, public spaces are restricted and dangerous, with much focus placed on the lack of public spaces rather than their quality.
In the summer of 2019, a group of young people from Brent worked with urban design researchers at the London School of Economics to explore their relationship with urban public spaces in Brent. Their research led to The Blueprint Charter – a manifesto that calls for the needs of 15-21 year-olds to be at the heart of the design of public spaces in London. The group will continue to work together throughout 2020, trialling experiments in public spaces around Wembley.
